Elk Velvet

Citron

Elk is a luxurious Italian velvet, with an exquisitely soft handle and subtle lustre created by European masters with an extensive knowledge handed down through generations since the 1890’s. This is an original Jardan favourite with an extensive library of colour that spans from dusty alluring pastels to rich opulent jewel tones. This fabric works beautifully on armchairs, sofas and ottomans, as the gentle lustre of the pile plays with the light and the texture adds a depth and richness of colour that will create a sense of atmosphere and grandeur. Cotton velvet is the most durable and long lasting of all velvets, and the short pile ensures minimal movement and bruising on your chosen piece.

Care

Dry Clean Only

Protect fabric from UV exposure fading by ensuring furniture sits out of direct or reflected sunlight, velvet is more suspectable to UV fading than other fabrications.  Regularly vacuum fabric to remove dust and dirt, if not removed dust & dirt will react with UV light to cause fabric bleaching and result in the fabric fading.

In order to prolong the life of your fabric, we recommend you have it protected by Premium Surface Protection (PSP). Please note that fabric protection methods can vary widely in their effectiveness as well as their environmental impact. The methods and products used by PSP are the only ones endorsed by Jardan. The use of an alternative method would void your fabric warranty. Please use the following form to obtain a quote from PSP directly - https://premiumsurfaceprotection.com.au/jardan/

Direct sunlight may cause colour change and aging of your fabric, for best performance we recommend positioning your furniture out of direct UV light and reflected light sunlight. Rotate cushions regularly where possible so fabric shows even wear and light exposure.

Pilling can occur occasionally as a result of normal daily wear and should not be considered as a fault. Fibre pills can be removed by a battery-operated pilling tool available from most haberdashery stores.

Vacuum fabrics on a weekly basis to remove dust, dirt and any loose feathers.  Treat spills and stains as soon as possible by blotting with a lightly damp cloth to remove as much of the spill as possible, do not scrub fabric as this may cause damage, do not treat with non-recommended chemical cleaners or scrub as this can alter the fabrics appearance. To prolong the life of your upholstery and to treat difficult stains, we recommend cleaning by a specialist fabric cleaner. Please contact PSP directly for details of their services using the link above.

Please note that dye transfer can occur when dye is transferred from an outside source on to upholstery fabric. For example: Unwashed new dark coloured denim or raw indigo garments.

It is advised to purchase a lint brush available from most haberdashery stores and regularly brush your velvet to maintain and remove dust and light bruising.

Please Note

Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the colours depicted on our website of materials and products accurately reflect the way they appear in person, Jardan advises that there may be variation between these due to a combination of factors including computer monitor, screen settings and lighting as well as a level of true variation in the products themselves. We work with many natural materials as well as handmade artisan products where a level of variation is to be expected and celebrated. It is therefore recommended that you view products in person prior to ordering where possible, or request swatches and additional information from our sales teams.
