From field to fibre, from yarn to fabric, the making of linen is a story of passion and craftsmanship. The colour of the raw flax is determined by the sun exposure and influence of the soil, this variance in colour provides the unique appearance and beauty of linen that can be seen in the subtle tonal play of colour thought the fabric. Astrid’s inviting, robust and compelling texture is versatile, but timeless and is available in a range of nature-inspired colours that will create both refined rustic and casual moods alike. Linen fabrics are strong, have a high resistance to abrasion and water repellent finish.

Care
Dry Clean Only
To protect your upholstered furniture and keep it looking fresh, follow these care tips:
Avoid Direct or Reflected Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause fading and deterioration. Keep your furniture away from windows, or use blinds/curtains to block harsh rays.
Regular Vacuuming: Use a vacuum with a non-rotating upholstery head to gently remove dust and dirt. If not removed regularly, dust and dirt can accumulate on the fabric. Over time, these particles can react with UV light, leading to fabric bleaching and causing the fabric to fade. To prevent this, it's essential to vacuum your furniture regularly and ensure any dirt or dust is promptly removed. Frequent vacuuming will also help remove loose fibres and foreign particles, which can reduce pilling (those little fuzzy balls that form on the surface).
Rotate Cushions: If possible, rotate your cushions to ensure even wear. This will prevent certain areas from wearing out faster than others, keeping your furniture looking balanced.
Spill Management: Clean spills immediately by blotting (not rubbing) with a damp cloth. Avoid scrubbing, as it can damage the fabric. For tough stains, it’s best to consult a professional cleaning service to ensure safe and effective stain removal.
Pilling: Pilling can occur as a result of normal daily wear, especially in linen rich fabrics, and should not be considered a fault. Linen fabric may require de-pilling early in its lifecycle due to its natural fibre structure. This is common and should subside over time as the fabric settles. You can remove fibre pills using a battery-operated pilling tool, available from most haberdashery or fabric stores.
Dye Transfer: Dye transfer is another consideration for fabric care. This occurs when dye from an external source, such as unwashed new dark-coloured denim or raw indigo garments, is transferred onto upholstery fabric. To avoid dye transfer, ensure any new dark fabrics are washed before coming into contact with your furniture.
Fabric Protection: To prolong the life of your fabric, we highly recommend having it protected by Premium Surface Protection (PSP). Please be aware that fabric protection methods can vary significantly in both their effectiveness and environmental impact. PSP is the only method endorsed by Jardan. Using an alternative fabric protection method may void your fabric warranty. Please Note
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the colours depicted on our website of materials and products accurately reflect the way they appear in person, Jardan advises that there may be variation between these due to a combination of factors including computer monitor, screen settings and lighting as well as a level of true variation in the products themselves. We work with many natural materials as well as handmade artisan products where a level of variation is to be expected and celebrated. It is therefore recommended that you view products in person prior to ordering where possible, or request swatches and additional information from our sales teams.
