SkLO was founded in 2009 by husband and wife design team Karen Gilbert and Paul Pavlak, and brothers Pavel and Petr Hanousek. “Sklo” is the Czech word for “glass”. The heart of all the SkLO collections is handblown glass, and they work exclusively within the Czech glassblowing tradition to produce their glass. The design centre is based in Los Angeles whilst all glass production takes place in the Czech Republic.
